Once the features of the church website have been ascertained, the next step in using any blogging software is to choose a theme.
It is clear from looking at the default theme that it will not be suitable and will not meet the needs that were set out. However, searching for church themes, brings one website up again and again. LivingOS is the blog of a minister called Tim Hyde in St Helens on Merseyside. He is produced several themes for churches including LivingOS alpha. It has a large space on the right for permanent information about the church and he has sucessfully incorporated an accessible drop down menu.
There are more themes available and they can be easily customised with the church’s graphics. These themes are recommended and certainly in order to get a church blog website working quickly they are a great starting point.
Next, we will look at how to customise wordpress and the theme we are using for our church site.

What I meant to add was that if anyone knew of any other good themes for churches, I would love to hear about them.
