A WordPress plugin has been released to bring bible verses in blog posts to life, by linking them to eBible.com and also showing the verse as a ‘tooltip’ via the title tag.
There is a demo blog which shows the plugin in action.
Like other plugins, you drop it into the wordpress plugin folder, but before it works you need to complete the options screen. Most importantly is the eBible.com API key that you need. You can get a free one here.
The option screen is as follows;

To download the plugin, go to the WordPress plugin site.

“to bring bible verses in blog posts to life”
Bible is a proper noun, always captialized. See;

Thanks for the comment, but I disagree. I was referring to ‘bible verses’ not to the ‘Bible’s verses’.

This would be a much better plugin if it didn’t have a backlink to ebible in every Bible verse reference.
It’s not that I mind giving ebible a backlink for using the plugin; but to those of us who know about Internet Marketing, it is very obvious that the intentions for this plugin are not free from being self-serving.

Thanks Chris, I know what you are saying. Fancy developing your own plugin, or know a better one?

I get a kick out of people who have the nerve to complain about a tool that they can use for free that gives the creator a backlink… if your so good at marketing create your own tool!

If its free to use why not support it with a backlink.
