There will be plenty of animal lovers left on earth who will very quickly see the need to attempt to feed missing neighbors’ pets. I would assume those left behind will also be doing major self-assessment about how “good” they are compared to those who were taken. (Romans answers this question clearly; but those who don’t know the Lord usually boil it down to comparing themselves with others instead of Him.) Therefore, I believe many will go out of their way to try to be philanthropic at this time. Consider how the nation sacrificed to support New Orleanians.
