There is an interesting interview in the Christian post vice-chair of the Internet Evangelism Coalition: ‘Utilising the MySpace Phenomenon for Christ’.

It looks at new media such as myspace, xanga and blogs for outreach to non-Christians. It points out that there are Christian alternatives to myspace like Xianz.com. It only talks only briefly about blogs and not at all about church blogs, but it is interesting to read about the ‘possiblilty that authenticity or the personal aspect of faith is being lost through this virtual way of communication’ and what the interviewee thinks.

When writing articles for church or Christian blogs it is important not to compromise in the faith department or dumb-down, just because it is online.

Authentic Christianity on the web is not as easy to find as it ought to be.
